Anachrome is a special kind of "anaglyph 3D" photography that can work much better than the typical "funny paper glasses" approach.
I invented and patented the special glasses used to see this superior version of simple color 3D. These Anachrome tm glasses are shown just below:

The glasses are patented in USA, they have a diopter correction in the left (RED) lens that sharpens the diffused red light which is 250 nanometers different than the cyan lens light.
To get the famously good results, it is best to closely overlay the images when creating the picture. This involves special skill, and following certain rules. If the image is truly sloppy,
use the 50 cent paper glasses. If you want the special Anachrome result...buy them from me. And consider a little phone/online training or buy my $7 training CD.

Anachrome is just the simplest color anaglyph format....We have other glasses to be used in the process, which starts with two 3D images paired, like below:

I, personally, have been a highly visible inovator in 3D movies, and 3D camera gear for over 40 years.





Canon has the 5D Mark 2...with 1920p HD...30, or 24 fps video, and up to 21 Meg stills or "burst" 3.9 fps super clarity "step video" on the huge 36mm C-mos sensor.
This is a new way to shoot 3D in this slower ULTRA HD format. But in many respects, It trumps the $100K 2/3 inch HD cameras used up to this point.

Another exciting development is the newer Canon 7D. It shoots 1080 HD(30fps)and it also shoots
amazingly CLEAR, large (18 mgp) burst "video" at 8 frames per second!



We are now renting fine anamorphic lenses with this rig to widen the image without degrading it!
Also well corrected rectilinear 20mm Canon "Ultrasound" series lenses.

Here is a split 1080p HD video frame shot recently with a FULL FRAME Loreo lens on my Canon 5D Mark II !
My little pal "Coochie" sat in as a model.

Use it with the two new Loreo lenses and you can shoot sound STEREOSCOPIC HD video, or by using the (4fps) burst mode, shoot 21mgp. silent "giant format 3D" with the same Loreo lenses.
The much cheaper 7D has a smaller 18mgp sensor, but it can crank a steady 8 frames per second, in the burst mode! And true 30 fps 1080p HD with sound.

A really good split lens, prismatic taking device can and should to offered for the next Canon HDSLR.

My co-op group has the intention of making a split lens device that will mount into a big PL MOUNT conversion, that other vendors will likely offer (as is the case with 5DM2)

Hopefully we will provide dual f2.0 lenses that will have the seperation spacing, with changable prisms, increased to 1.25, 2.00 and 2.5 inch effective spacing.

This will allow very effective coverage of live actors delivering lines with very pleasing 3D effect.

Longtime partner Chris Condon and I were the first people outside of Russia to perfect single camera 70mm production technique.

My earlier company, STEREOVISION INTL. INC. (founded 1970) was able to make excellent 65mm camera lenses for 3D movies on film.

Much of that 3D optical approach can be applied to a PL mounted dual lens, with high end prisms, for a single Canon 5D mark III.

Sync issues go out the window, with less weight and greater simplicity! Probable HDMI output to an powerful external recorder.

This image is one stereo pair taken as "UHD" 3D video at the recent Orange County Custom car show (it has been greatly reduced for posting at 396 high , here.)
Present generation ...Canon 7D SLR can shoot in ultra hi-def master format ,at 8 f.p.s. Then " double frame-bumped- up" to 16 fps for streaming.
These "step video" clips are amazingly clear,even if reduced to ordinary HD.

You would shoot at the S( fine) quality level to get these amazing results. You can run a 1080p video camera along for reference and sync sound.
This can be best viewed with our PRISMA- CHROME 3D © glasses. Experienced folks can easily cross-view this image with the new glasses. An Anachrome integrated

HOW TO MAKE AN ANAGLYPH

below is an Anachrome pair filtered for an integrated Anachrome video image, for present HD video monitors, shown below this master pair. It can be yiewed with our $5 and up plastic glasses, or even the paper mounted types,
as you cross view (it is still a cross pair, ) below this, is the final Anchrome integrated version which you'll see on any HD monitor with ZERO extra investment, from internet or possible immediate broadcast, as HD phases into 3D.

taken by the official photographer to the last Russian Tsar.
It was taken in 1911 using a glass plate b&w 3 image camera system.
